Octavian Popescu

Octavian Popescu has practised law for more than two decades. Admitted to the Bar in 2004, he became a partner at a Romanian business law firm in 2010 and in 2019 founded Popescu & Asociații, which he has led as Managing Partner ever since. Through its team, Popescu & Asociații covers the main areas of business law.
His disputes work has been ranked by Chambers & Partners every year since 2011 and is recommended by Legal 500 EMEA and Benchmark Litigation. In 2020 he was named Romania Lawyer of the Year at the Benchmark Litigation Europe Awards.
He is a listed arbitrator at the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the CCIR and at the Shanghai International Arbitration Center and a lecturer in civil procedure at INPPA, the Romanian bar's training institute. Since 2022 he has chaired the Romanian National Committee of the UIA.
